Hello, I'm Sofia
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Spain wasn't in the plan for the long haul. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created TidalStoneView
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Website Stands For (And What It Does Not)
This site OFFERS:
- Hands-on insights gained from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
